★ The best environmental choice
Why buy a real tree?
Every Christmas, people find themselves confronted with a choice: celebrate with a fresh, real tree, or one that is artificial plastic or aluminium. What most people don’t realise is that the best choice has always been the traditional and natural choice – a real Christmas Tree.

★ Six reasons ★
Real trees do real good
Dartmoor Christmas Trees benefit the environment, renew themselves, recycle completely and keep money and jobs in the South West.
Benefit the environment
While they’re growing, real Christmas Trees support life by absorbing carbon dioxide and other gases and emitting fresh oxygen – one acre of Christmas Trees provides the daily oxygen requirement of 18 people!
Farms that grow Christmas Trees stabilise soil, reduce flooding and provide refuge for wildlife while creating scenic green belts.
Renewable
Harvesting a real Christmas Tree isn’t ‘reducing the forest’ – our trees are grown on farms just like any other agricultural crop. To ensure a constant supply, we plant one to three new saplings for every tree we harvest.
Artificial trees, on the other hand, are a petroleum-based product manufactured primarily in Chinese factories. The average family uses one for only six to nine years before throwing it away, where it will remain in landfill for centuries.
Recyclable
Real Christmas Trees are biodegradable, which means they can be easily recycled for mulch and other purposes. Why not ask us about our collection service?
Preserve green spaces
Our Christmas Trees are often grown on soil that does not support other crops.
Support the local economy
Real Christmas Trees provide permanent and seasonal jobs for local people. We provide work for 70 local people over the course of a year!
Support local charities
Dartmoor Christmas Trees provide Christmas Trees and financial support to a number of charities and other associations throughout the South West.
